You might have noticed that I’ve been releasing some new music videos lately—I’m really glad to see so many of you have been open to hearing new music from me. Conversely, some listeners have been understandably hesitant, particularly in the case of videos where I'm flying through mid-air (see above).
While I don’t usually talk about it, I’ve been dealing with a bit of writer’s block over the past few years. There have been many times where I’ve started a song but couldn’t quite finish it. But, step by step, I’ve been piecing together a new collection of songs—some are heavily orchestrated with layers of synthesizers, while others are designated for more acoustic musical environments.
Either way, the new music videos I’ve been sharing are a way for me to show you some new ideas I’ve been working on. While they’re not exactly demos, these songs will likely be completed with a full band at some point in the near future. In this collection of songs, you may have already heard "AM/FM," "Ocean Road," "Eon FM," and "Electrical Storm." Many of these songs have themes that directly or indirectly reference my love for coastal Victoria, or days when I used to drive around Melbourne flipping through local radio stations (though I’ll admit, I missed out on hearing the original Eon FM by a few years…).
Anyway, until the time comes to re-enter the studio with a newly formed band, I hope you'll continue to join me on this journey of musical experimentation. Thank you as always for your support—I'm looking forward to sharing more with you soon!
Keep on shredding,
Ben.
